Holiday Lab Tour 2022

Just in time for Winter a quick tour of the more unusual things around our lab...
Picture

The small village of Frostfall can be found in the middle rack,
On the top shelf of our -80 freezer, it's never off track.

With temperatures that are colder than Oymyakon,
The residents here monitor the temperature all year long.

They maintain the Stirling engine with care,
Ensuring that our samples are viable and fair.

Over in the -20C freezer, Mr. Frosty stands guard,
Protecting the enzymes from the freezer trolls that are hard.

Polymerases, ligases, and endonucleases too,
He keeps them all safe from the creatures that are true.

The lab gnomes are always around,
Helping with defrosting, never making a sound.

But watch your samples, or they might be lost,
In the hands of these helpers, who know what they cost.

We've seen unusual smearing patterns on our gels of late,
But we're not sure what's causing the strange state.

With the first snow comes the ice sculptures near the mill race,
A beautiful sight, with a chill in the air, it's a sight to embrace.

Forgotten buffers have been colonized,
By herds of wooly mammoths, a surprise, oh my goodness gracious!

It's a sight to behold, these majestic creatures on the scene,
In the forgotten buffers, they now reign supreme.

A perfect 20.000 score on the Nanophotometer
Attracts attention, but watch those ratios, or else you'll be a goner!
Stay focused, don't let your measurements falter.
